``mcnerney'' genealogical email list
An email list of persons interested in McNerney genealogy has been established;
it is owned by Dr. Michael T. McNerney of Austin, Texas. An email discussion
list is basically an email address to which people subscribe. Anyone may
subscribe for free, and those who subscribe are `on the list' and able
to send email to the list. If the list gets email from someone not on the
list, it bounces. Any email it receives from subscribers gets sent out
to everyone who is on the list. Subscribers may opt to get these as they
come, or may opt for a digest. The digest collects all the email it receives
for the whole day and sends it out all in one bundle at some specified
time, like midnight for example.

to subscribe, with this line in the body of the message all by itself:
subscribe mcnerney <John M. McNerney>
except put your name in place of John M. McNerney. Be sure to disable
any auto signatures you may have appended to your outgoing messages.
