Dear Listers,
I have not posted in a while so I thought I would give it another try.
Unless
otherwise noted, all information has been confirmed from documentation
of
either death, birth, baptism, census, or marriage records.
The following is regarding my great grandfather, Michael McEnerny:
September 1847 - born in Ireland to parents; John McEnerny and Mary McMahon.
September 1852 - brother, John McKinerney was born in Ireland.
Please note
that this is not confirmed information.
1853 - 1856 immigrated to Ontario, Canada near Ottawa. If John is not
Michael's brother, they could have immigrated as early as 1847.
1856 - Sister, Catherine is born near Ottawa
1867 - filed intent to Naturalize in Marion County, OH.
1870 - listed in the census for Akron, Ohio
1872- received final Naturalization papers in Muskingum County, OH.
In
Zanesville. Signature of witness is a Dennis McNerney.
1883 - Found in Corning, Ohio, Perry County for the birth of son Theodore.
Wife is noted as being Mary Elizabeth Coster.
1885 - 1892 - resides in Akron, Ohio as is recorded for births of children,
Gertrude E., Mary S., Joseph A., and Francis C.
1894 - resides in Wurtland, KY, Greenup County, recorded births of children,
Alice J., and Lucy.
1900 - resides in Wurtland, KY according to census record.
1905 - dies in Wurtland on February 3, 1905 of massive heart attack
while
climbing the stairs to the attic. Is buried in Calvary Cemetery in
Ashland,
KY.
1909 - John McEnerny b. 1873, is buried next to Mary and Michael McEnerny.
I
have not been able to place this John but it is said through the family
grapevine that he is the son to Michael from his first marriage (before
marriage to Mary Coster). I have been unable to find any reference
to a
first marriage.
Any help or suggestions are most welcome.
Regards,
